Girl, Stop Apologizing!
Book appreciation and analysis
Boys are raised in a way to go for their dreams, no matter what it is and girls are grown up to fulfill others’ dreams is a popular notion. This book is a helpful guide to overcome that and is an attempt to prepare at least a percentage of women population to go after their pursuit of dreams.
Author Rachel Hollis doesn’t apologize right from the beginning to the end to express her story to inspire or give her pep talk. There is a sorry-not-sorry motto running underneath the whole book. Her candid honesty is refreshing.
As we can mildly guess from the title, choose your priorities and place yourself first without any form of guilt or peer pressure is the mantra which worked for her in the simplest words. And she aims to inspire us through a step-by-step process which is a definite good read for any woman who aims to focus attention on goals.
Many women will resonate with the empowering words to break free from the strings of life to pursue what you love and will benefit from it. Hopefully, stimulate your thoughts to be judgment-free and be devoid of self-doubts.
Her perception towards the Boss babe culture was a new way of seeing it for me. It was a thought worth thinking of. Though I still respect and understand women who are of the Boss babe tribe and are motivated by it.
If you are one of the grown women who wouldn’t want to ask permission or apologies for setting goals and doing what you love. This book is a good reminder for you! Have a read of it, if you already haven’t.
